HQ office building is in addition to 90-acre plot for planned 18-stage facility

Marlow Studios has acquired 230,000 sq ft of office space to house its HQ.

Next door to the 90-acre plot where it plans to create an 18-stage TV and film facility, the office building sits on a 12-acre site. Marlow Studios will use it as its base while delivering its main facility, and hope that in the short and medium term it will also host other creative sector organisations and filming projects.

Marlow Studios originally had its application rejected by Buckinghamshire council in June 2024, largely due to concerns over the use of green belt land. However, the government then announced plans to review the decision in October 2024, following an appeal by developer Dido Property Limited. The appeal was successful and the project was given planing permission in November last year

When completed, Marlow Studios plans to contain 18 sound stages over 472,000 sq ft, 410,000 sq ft of workshops, and 280,000 sq ft of production offices over a 36 hectare plot, with the hope to support 4,000 jobs in the area - 2,000 in technical and production roles and 2,000 in the wider economy.

Robert Laycock, CEO of Marlow Studios, said: “As the creative media market increasingly turns to the UK to deliver projects of all scales and formats for global audiences, Marlow Studios’ investment approach is to meet growing demand for premium infrastructure and production facilities. The depth of talent here, and its capacity for leadership across film, television and technology, is exceptional. Our conviction is to build around those people to meet global demand.

“The addition of the Marlow International site to our portfolio supports that vision – both as a base for our expanding team and to accommodate inbound productions requiring office and pre-production space, even ahead of work commencing on the main site.

“Further announcements will follow as the project progresses through 2026.”
