Staff at The Club have been left jobless after a capital investment firm completed an assets only deal for the Covent Garden post house.

Business recovery firm Harrisons completed negotiations earlier this week on a liquidation deal that sees Concordiam Ventures take over the lease on The Club’s Bedfordbury building and pick up the company name, its
ongoing business and any existing technical infrastructure.

The 10 staff currently employed by The Club are not included in the deal, although current owner and managing director Bill Cullen has been offered a temporary position.

Craig Boddington of Concordiam Ventures told Broadcast the purchase was likely to be first of several forays into the post-production market.

The Club provides finishing, editing and audio services - particularly on-air work - to the BBC, Discovery, C4 and MTV.

Post Couture, the limited company trading as The Club, is the second incarnation of the post house to close.
