Soho visual effects software developer The Foundry has appointed a new global head of sales and brought on board an Emmy Award-winning lead engineer.

Former Avid vice president of sales Patrick Jocelyn (pictured) joins the company as its new global head of sales.

In his new role Jocelyn is being tasked with “leading the global sales team as the company and its product portfolio grows ambitiously.”

He said: “The Foundry is a fast growing and innovative developer of software that is helping facilities and creative individuals make the most incredible and seemingly impossible special effects.”

Jocelyn has previously worked at Autodesk, Liquid Audio, Dynatech Video Group and Quantel.

At the same time Andy Lomas has joined the company as lead engineer.

The former Framestore head of graphics has been given the responsibility for integrating core elements of the look development and lighting technology Katana - acquired by The Foundry last year - into its product portfolio.

The technology was bought from Sony Imageworks.

Lomas is an Emmy Award winner with experience working at DreamWorks and ESC Entertainment. His credits include Avatar, The Matrix sequels and Walking with Dinosaurs.
