The Foundry has launched an open beta for Hiero, its latest VFX tool.

Hiero, which was unveiled in September, is a desktop application for Nuke the company’s compositing system Nuke.

The Foundry said that Hiero has been devloped to make collaborative working on VFX projects easier and to improve efficiency and increase shot throughput volume.

Hiero, which is due for release next month, will initially be available on OSX and Linux, with Windows to follow. It will cost £3150.
