Brief Conform, grade, online and deliver an 8 x 60-minute drama about a bustling and glamorous five-star hotel during WWII.

How it was done Colourist Thomas Urbye, using the Quantel Rio, enhanced the luxurious look of The Halcyon hotel itself to complement the drama within the story.

Careful S-curve contrast helped to create shape in the images, while the introduction of a teal tone into the shadows provided separation in what is a largely gold and beige set. Senior online editor Mark Maltby handled picture fixes.

The post-producer was Dan Marbrook. Boom’s Stuart Hilliker completed the audio mix. Lexhag was responsible for the visual effects, delivering more than 200 shots including explosions, smoke simulations, set extensions and flying planes.
