Brief Provide full post-production on a heart-warming two-part Christmas special of the travel documentary series.

How it was done The series was shot in SLog in order to push the colour and contrast as much as possible. Julian Nelson completed the grade using Baselight Editions inside Avid.

For the online, Nelson eliminated a series of unwanted horizontal bands, caused by source lighting, that had run down the screen.

The sound mix was competed by dubbing mixer John Paul Sutherland with Pro Tools, using selected plug-ins from Izotope, Waves and Avid.

The challenge was to ensure that the audio punched through in every shot and that any ‘travelogue’ tone was avoided. 

As the travellers were immersed in a unique world, it was crucial to favour actuality over commentary in order to tell the story.

This attention to detail in the dub helped bring the characters and their personal experiences to life in an interesting and entertaining way.
