Media giant Thomson has acquired French IPTV platform provider Thales Broadcast & Multimedia for around£87.7m. The deal will give the Thomson group end-to-end products and services in the IPTV, mobile TV and digital terrestrial transmission (DTT) markets. It is the second acquisition made by Thomson this month, after it bought HD video editing company Canopus for£61.8m.
