Ireland’s TV3 is using Ooyala for live and VoD content across all digital devices.

The broadcaster began working with Ooyala in April of this year, after previously completing all its VoD encoding in-house.

Ooyala will be responsible for content for two live channels, TV3 and 3e, as well as TV3’s catch-up service, 3player.

A newly redesigned 3player will go live in September, and the Ooyala-powered live streams will go live in November.

Ooyala will allow TV3 to analyse how its audience engages with content. It will use Discovery, Ooyala’s content recommendation technology, to deliver personalised experiences for each viewer.

TV3 also partnered with two Dublin based companies, DV4 and Axonista, to build the 3player’s device-agnostic experience.
