Post and transmission house TSI is doing a deal with interactive tv provider Two Way TV to provide mobile phone services to broadcasters using its playout centre.

It is the first time that Two Way TV has arranged a partnership with a playout company rather than a channel operator. The partnership means broadcasters using TSI TX will be able to plug into revenue-generating TV services featuring graphics-led programming and SMS services that target the viewer.

Deals ranging from a straight percentage revenue split to the channel paying upfront for the service and keeping all the money generated by the mobile services can be struck. Revenue is split between Two Way TV, TSI and the channel operator.

A Two Way TV spokeswoman said: "This kind of service is going to become standard, but it's important to get in there early."

Although no deals have been agreed, Two Way TV is confident of "a couple of strong proposals over the next few weeks".
