University Technical College to set up at MediaCityUK

The first in-take of students at UTC@MediaCityUK, as it will be known, will be based in a 6,200 sq m building on the junction of South Langworthy Road and Broadway.

The £10.4m facility aims to provide 14-19 year olds from Greater Manchester with the education and skills needed for careers in the digital, media and creative industries, as well as the chance to work with employers at MediaCityUK.

MediaCityUK managing director Stephen Wild said: “As education, training and development continue to be debated by businesses and political figures, it is vital MediaCityUK has a learning hub at the core of its creative environment.

“Bringing together talent and academia creates a whole host of benefits and opportunities, including knowledge partnership sharing and ultimately job creation.
