NEP Visions is working with Serpent Productions to deliver host broadcast coverage of the Nelson Mandela 90th Birthday concert in Hyde Park this weekend.

The concert which will be held on Friday 27 June and will feature big name artists including Queen, Annie Lennox, Simple Minds, Leona Lewis, the Sugababes, Dame Shirley Bassey and Razorlight performing in front of an audience of nearly 50,000 people.

NEP Visions will provide an HD production unit complete with 20 cameras, graphics facilities and surround sound recording in Dolby 5.1.

Working in partnership with hire company On Sight, Visions will house all the 5.1 and HD edit facilities in a multipurpose production unit that will include three HD Avid Adrenaline edit suites.

Visions will also utilise the Vortex camera mount which lifts a camera from ground level to 30 feet in just 15 seconds and provides shots of the stage and crowd.

The outside broadcast services provider will also supply facilities for terrestrial broadcaster ITV and American channel VH1.

Susan Bourne, unit manager of the event, said that she was looking forward to working with the director, David Mallet. “It's a great job for us to work on and we're especially pleased to be working with one of the best known directors in the music business,” she said.

In addition to the Nelson Mandela concert NEP Visions is also providing four different customers with facilities at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships which takes place over the next fortnight.
