Russian broadcaster Friday TV is to remake Wife Swap after striking a deal with Zodiak Rights.

The network has ordered a local version of the UK format, to be produced by Banijay-owned Mastiff Russia.

The distributor has previously closed format deals for the RDF show with broadcasters in in Romania (Prima), Ukraine (1+1), Slovakia (Markiza) and the Czech Republic (Nova), while TV2 Hungary has acquired all of the UK series.

Friday TV has is also remaking Ladette to Lady.

Zodiak Rights has also sold a pair of dramas to Ceska Televize. The public broadcaster has acquired Norwegian political thriller Occupied and Wallander.

Andrew Sime, vice president of formats at Zodiak Rights, said: “The unrivalled depth of our catalogue means we can come to Natpe Budapest with brand new formats and dramas, like Undressed and Wolf Creek, and at the same time build on continued demand for audience favourites such as Wife Swap, Psychic Challenge and Fort Boyard.”
