He will interview Baywatch and Knight Rider star David Hasselhoff in the first part of the weekly chatshow, titled Mitch Winehouse’s Showbiz Rant. Each instalment of the 12-episode run will last three-and-a-half minutes.

The show was ordered by Liv commissioning executive Alex Ayling.

The first episode will air today [2 November] at 4pm. The second episode will air on Thursday 5 November and then on consecutive episodes every Thursday. The series will run for a total of 12 weeks.

In Winehouse’s interview with Hasselhoff, topics covered include “the perils of the music industry and the pressures of being a showbiz father”, as well as the Loch Ness monster and Shoreditch vampires.

There will also be a festive special on Christmas Eve, in which the host will broadcast an alternative Christmas message.

Liv channel editor Amy Barham, said it was a “coup” to have Winehouse fronting a show because he is known for his “forthright, no-holds-barred approach”.
