MIPCOM: Parade’s End, the forthcoming BBC drama adapted by Sir Tom Stoppard, has been picked up for broadcast in Australia.
The 5 x 60-minute drama, co-produced by the BBC, HBO and Mammoth Screen, has been acquired by the Nine Network, where it will air in 2013.
The story of love and betrayal, set against the end of the Edwardian era and the First World War, will star Benedict Cumberbatch, Rebecca Hall, Anne-Marie Duff, Australian actress Adelaide Clemens and Rupert Everett.
Stoppard’s adaptation of the book, written by Ford Maddox Ford, marks his first work for television in nearly 20 years.
The deal was handled by Kaye Warren, BBC Worldwide Australia’s head of TV sales.
