Autodesk is running its first extended trial of a product in a bid to make Smoke 2013 appeal to a wider group of users.

Autodesk media and entertainment worldwide field marketing manager Nick Manning said: “Research told us the interface was alien to some users, so we have worked with Final Cut and Media Composer users to make it more familiar.

“From June, users will be able to download a 2013 pre-release they can test and get familiar with. Input from the beta will be used for the autumn release.”
