Blackmagic Design has released DaVinci Resolve Lite, a reduced feature version of DaVinci Resolve.

The free software is based on DaVinci Resolve 8, and will run on the latest model iMac, 17inch MacBook Pro and Mac Pro computers.

Resolve Lite can accept high resolution source footage in 2K and 4K from Red and Arri cameras, but projects are limited to SD and HD resolutions, only two colour correction nodes, a single processing GPU and a single Red Rocket card.

Stereoscopic 3D features, noise reduction, power mastering, remote grading and sharing projects with an external database server are only offered in the full DaVinci Resolve.

Resolve Lite includes high quality optical resizing, curve grading, XML import and export, 32 bit float processing, and multi layer timelines.
