The developer of cloud video platform FORscene saw its sales increase by a quarter over the last 12 months.

Wimbledon-headquartered Forbidden Technologies said it had some “major contract wins” during the 12 months to December 2011, including the licencing of FORscene to YouTube and Ericsson and partnerships with AP ENPS and EVS.

The company posted a rise in sales to £466,674 from £372,139 during the same period last year.

Net losses widened to £186,218 – a 44% increase on last year - which Forbidden attributed to greater investment in research and development, marketing and sales.

Gross profit increased by 29% to £417,769.

Forbidden said it would continue to focus on post-production, news and sport, social media and education.

Chairman Vic Steel said: “Over the past year, and in the first quarter of 2012, the company has achieved increased recognition of its technical excellence among a diverse group of major companies across the world, including the appointment of Techtel as distributor in South East Asia.”
