Content services firm Prime Focus Technologies (PFT) has appointed Aine Healy to the newly created role of vice-president and head of UK.

Healy, who joined last week, said PFT would grow from a total of 350 employees in London, India and the US to 1,000. UK headcount is set to rise “considerably”.

She said PFT, which is part of the wider India-based facilities group, had signed deals with unnamed “significant” players in the UK to provide distribution services, and that there was “enormous interest” among UK content owners in getting content to customers as quickly as possible.

“For a long time, we’ve heard the phrase ‘content is king’, and that’s now truly the case. Storage, quality control, multiple versions of programmes for mobile, web and TV are all concerns for content owners, and that is a fairly common outlook across the board,”
