The head of Peel and SIS’s post-production operation at MediaCityUK has resigned after 10 months in the role.

Mark Lovatt joined MediaCity Studios Limited, (MCSL) the joint venture between SIS and property developer Peel, in June last year to head up the company’s post operation.

SIS chief executive David Holdgate told Broadcast Lovatt resigned mid-way through the month.

“He resigned and wanted to leave as soon as he could so we let him go,” Holdgate said.

“We have some interim resource in place from our own management structure and we are recruiting his replacement now.”

Lovatt previously worked for STV where he was head of post-production, a position he held for six years having joined the broadcaster in 1993.

MCSL’s post operation includes ten fast turnaround edit suites, a dubbing theatre and an ingest area. It also operates seven HD studios.

A candidate for the post-production role is expected to be chosen within the next month.
