ITV has signed deals with Apple and Google to encourage more collaboration and greater mobile working among its staff.

Under the agreement with Apple, ITV will replace 80% of its PC workstations with Apple computers over the next few months.

ITV has also signed a deal with Google to use its web-based communication and collaboration tools, including GMail and Google Docs.

ITV chief technology officer Paul Dale said: “When I arrived at ITV, one of my tasks was to implement a company-wide plan for workplace technology in order to enable our staff to deliver ITV’s transformation plan.”

Dale said the partnerships would allow ITV to “transform our internal ways of working across the business”.

ITV declined to reveal the amount spent on the technology.
