NAB 2011: A professional 3D camcorder and CineAlta camera with an 8K image sensor were yesterday launched at the Las Vegas trade show

Sony has unveiled a compact 3D camcorder, the HXR-NX3D1E NXCAM, as the latest addition to its NXCAM series.

Available in summer 2011, Sony says it will “open up the world of 3D to a wider group of professional users, allowing them to create 3D footage of new types of content– such as weddings, events and corporate videos”.

The camcorder supports AVCHD codec and comes with twin Sony G Lenses and Exmor R CMOS sensors and image processors.Two full HD recordings are encoded in the H.264 MVC before being combined in a single file.

The manufacturer’s CineAlta camera, the F65, contains an 8K image sensor, which will deliver HD, 2K and 4K resolution and can record upto 120Fps.
