Blackmagic Design has knocked £600 off the price of its Compact Videohub.

The two-rack unit router now costs £1,875.

Blackmagic chief executive Grant Petty said the price reduction would benefit “smaller studios on the tightest budgets”.

He said: “We designed the Compact Videohub to be the world’s largest 3 Gb/s SDI router that’s possible to fit into an impossibly small 2 rack unit size, while still being affordable for everyone.”

The router features 3 Gb/s SDI, ASI, auto switching SD, HD and 3 Gb/s SDI formats, SDI re-clocking, USB, redundant power inputs, Ethernet and serial router control.
