Aardman Animations has signed a series of global deals to sell its library of cartoon content for viewing on mobile phones.

The indie is capitalising on the release of its new feature film Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-rabbitto cut agreements with mobile providers.

In Britain, Aardman has an exclusive promotional deal with Orange UK for downloads, screensavers, wallpapers and voice tones from the new movie.

It has also signed deals with Vodafone, 02, 3 UK and Orange UK to make its back catalogue available, including clips from series such as Morphand Creature Comforts.

Overseas, it now has licensing deals with Minick for Latin America and north and east Europe, Starcut for South-East Asia, Player X for Scandinavia and Buongiorno for France, Italy, Brazil, Greece, Morocco, Portugal, Australia and New Zealand.

Direct deals have also been made with 3 Australia and Telecom New Zealand for distribution of Angry Kidand Wallace and Gromit,and Aardman is about to sign off a major distribution deal in Japan.

All the deals have been brokered by Aardman's mobile agent, Crucible Media over the past two years.
