Former Clear Cut Pictures managing director Paul Austin is set to join The Studios at MediaCityUK.

Austin will take on the role of head of post-production.

He has been replaced at Clear Cut by former Molinare chief operating officer Scott Holmgren.

As well as managing the Salford facility’s post-production services, Austin has been tasked with creating cloud-based services for UK and overseas customers.

The Studios, MediaCityUK are owned by Peel but operated through a partnership between Peel and SIS.

The previous head of the post-production operation at MediaCityUK, Mark Lovatt, left after 10 months in the role.

Starting in September, Austin will work with commercial director and acting chief operating officer Ian Munford, head of operations John O’Shaughnessy and chief technology officer Paul Clennell.

Ian Munford said: “Paul comes with a fantastic track record of managing Clear Cut Pictures.

“He is well known in the industry for his laser focus on customer service and insight into developing innovative workflows that really matter to programme makers.

“Paul will be a great addition to the experienced management team already here at The Studios, MediaCityUK, and will take our post-production and cloud-based media management services to the next level of delivery.”

Austin added: “I am sad to be leaving Clear Cut however the chance to work at such an amazing media hub is just too good to miss.

“I have kept a keen eye on developments in Salford and it is an amazing thing to happen for the whole North West region and the UK as a whole.”
