Avid has launched the successor to its Isis 7000 shared storage system.

The Isis 7500 has double the storage capacity of its predecessor and features anew 128TB configuration, powered by the new i8000 storage blade and Isis 4.6 software.

Avid said the updates would allow media organisations to scale the system with up to 3PB of raw storage, which is twice the amount of the Isis 7000.

Isis 7500 will be available in December.

The cost of an Isis 7500 with 128TB Isis Engine and System Director with software licence and ExpertPlus Hardware Support starts at £134,000.
