Former head of sport at the BBC and Channel 4 Mike Miller has taken on the role of chairman at UAV filming firm Batcam.

Miller, who also held the role of chief executive of the International Rugby Board and managing director of Rugby World Cup, said: “With its proven and fast growing track record Batcam offers huge potential not just as a business but as an exciting creative tool in broadcast, industry and the film business.

“With our combined experience and drive, we are confident the company will continue to grow successfully.”

Batcam was set up in 2013 by chief executive Jon Hurndall and chief operating officer Alastair Soutar.

The company’s credits include the Ryder Cup, Royal Ascot, the Premier League, Formula 1, Champions League and the FA Cup.

Hurndall added: “Having someone with Mike’s experience as part of Batcam is a major milestone in the development of our company.

“His vast knowledge both editorially, and as a rights holder within the higher echelons of sport is a major asset to Batcam.”
