Former BBC TV deputy managing director Robin Scott CBE, has died aged 79. Scott was the launch controller of BBC Radio 1 and 2 in 1967 and two years later took over as controller of BBC 2. He leaves a wife, Patricia, and sons Mark and Paul. BBC director of TV Alan Yentob said: 'He was a great advocate of quality programme making and encouraged many talents.'
