Discovery Networks EMEA has awarded BDA (Bruce Dunlop and Associates) the on-air creative account for a major part of its channel portfolio including Animal Planet and Discovery World.

As part of the agreement BDA will be required to produce 11 promo campaigns a month for various channels.

These include: Animal Planet, Discovery Travel and Living, ID:Investigation Discovery, Discovery Science, Discovery World, Animal Planet HD and Discovery HD Showcase.

Maurizio Vitale, senior vice president of marketing communications for Discovery Networks EMEA said:  “Our mission is to grow and localise our channel offerings and we have chosen to work with BDA because we believe they can meet the high creative standards expected from our loyal European viewers.”



Discovery Networks EMEA awarded the contract to BDA following the success of a sales reel created for Discovery’s premium HD channel, Discovery HD Showcase which won a Gold Promax Europe award.

BDA group managing director Honor Barratt said: “Discovery allows us to experiment with really strong creative concepts.”

The first promo in the new deal will be an “amusing” take on Shark Month, showing how fear of sharks can affect everyday life.
