Bectu is currently studying the training needs of post-production workers in the capital and looking at whether a learning centre in the area is a viable proposition. The study, which will look at a variety of companies, is being carried out on behalf of the London Central Learning and Skills Council. The survey will also cover areas such as experiences of life-long learning, career advice and guidance and new developments such as 'skills passports' and mentoring schemes. The findings are due to be published by the end of the year and should certain needs be identified, Bectu will look at ways to secure funding.
