ITV director of Northern resources Paul Bennett has been promoted to managing director of resources for ITV Studios (ITVS), a new position that will see him head up all production, technical and facilities operations for ITVS across the whole of England.

In his new role Bennett will continue to look after the Leeds and Manchester operations that are currently his responsibility but also take on the role currently occupied by Debbie Hills, the managing director of The London Studios and the current director of resources, South, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.

Bennett will start his new job in the New Year when he will split his time equally between London and the North.

ITV Studios director of production Claire Poyser said: “Paul will lead all ITV Studios resources activity to ensure we continue to employ our world class technical resources and renowned know-how to maximum effect both for ITV Studios and external production companies.”

At the same time, ITV head of production technology (North) John O’Shaughnessy has left the broadcaster and is expected to take up a new role at MediaCityUK in Salford.
