South coast facility Brighton TV has won the contract to produce HD DVDs for a classical music and dance DVD production and distribution company owned by the Royal Opera House.

The company has sealed the deal - worth around 25 DVDs a year - with Opus Arte UK, which was bought by the Royal Opera House in May.

Brighton TV technical director Jon Lee said the contract consolidated Brighton TV's position as the leading facilities house in the south of the UK.

He said: 'This is a fantastic achievement for regional post-production and the further development of HD work in the south. Brighton TV is able to provide a service that rivals any London facilities house.'

The facility has purchased a Snell & Wilcox Alchemist Ph.C-HD standards converter to cater for demand for HD transfers for clients including Electric Sky and Virgin Media.

It has also installed five new Avid edit suites. Recent credits include the offline for Wall to Wall's 3 x 60-minute documentary Landlords.
