The BBC took two prizes - best animated sequence in the commissioned films category plus the grand prix for best TV animation programme. BBC MediaArc's 3D CharacterShop took the first with the opening sequence created for this year's British Animation Awards and the BBC Animation/Harvest Films co-production Hamilton Mattress scooped the grand prix, winning the prize for the UK for the first time in the awards' 26-year history. Other wins included the best pilot category in which Collingwood O'Hare Entertainment fought off 30 other new programmes with its Gullane Entertainment co-production Yoko! Jakamoto! Toto!
