Broadcast will relocate to MediaCityUK in Salford this week for a special two days of events and coverage.
The second Broadcast@MediaCity event, which is sponsored by Dock10 and ITV, will begin on Wednesday 25 September with a roundtable featuring some of the highest-profile indie bosses in the north of England.
Names including Claire Poyser, managing director of Lime Pictures, and Shine North MD Alex Connock will discuss the impact of MediaCity and wider opportunities outside of London.
In the evening, the Royal Television Society North West will host a drinks reception before Broadcast’s special Salford edition arrives on Thursday.
It includes interviews with BBC Radio 5 Live controller Jonathan Wall and Adil Ray, creator and star of Salford-produced BBC1 comedy Citizen Khan. The magazine also features a Behind the Scenes piece on Sally Wainwright drama The Last Witch.
Also on Thursday, Broadcast will record a Salford edition of its Talking TV podcast, featuring BBC North boss Peter Salmon, and host a Broadcast@MediaCity Commissioners’ Panel at the Morecambe & Wise Screening Room.
Panellists, including CBBC controller Cheryl Taylor and Greg Barnett, C5 commissioning editor for entertainment, daytime and soaps, will share their ambitions for their respective channels.
The event will close with a Dock10 party from 6pm on Thursday evening
