Scripted series described as ’wild, bold swing’
Starz has unveiled its latest project with Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson’s G-Unit Film & Television, this time an adaptation of supernatural crime graphic novel Bone Parish.
The show is in development at the recently standalone US broadcaster and streamer, which is looking to increase its slate of wholly owned shows.

Bone Parish, which was created by Cullen Bunn and Jonas Scharf, is published by Boom! Studios and will be exec produced by Jackson alongside co-showrunners Diane Ademu-John and Declan de Barra (Dune: Prophecy).
Stephen Christy and Mette Norkjaer from Boom! will also EP.
The story is set in the dark underworld of New Orleans and follows a family building an empire around a powerful new drug, crafted from the ashes of the dead.
As demand surges, rival factions, deadly secrets, and supernatural forces close in, creating a violent and inescapable nightmare of crime, horror, and family legacy.
Starz, which split from Lionsgate last year, is already working with Jackson on Power: Origins and Power: Legacy, as well as UK-based Fightland, which UK-based Sky subsequently boarded as a co-commissioner. Starz’s slate also includes a family drama set in the world of Black rodeo.
Kathryn Busby, president of original programming at Starz, described Bone Parish as “unlike anything we’ve done before: a world steeped in horror, and the supernatural, but still grounded in the family and crime storytelling our audience can’t get enough of.”
She added: “It’s a wild, bold swing, and exactly the kind of risk we want to be taking.”
Jackson continued: “I’ve always been drawn to stories that break the mold, and Bone Parish does exactly that. It takes crime, family, and power, and mixes it with something dark and supernatural, in a way that feels fresh.”
