BBC’s Stricly hosts to exit

Long-time co-presenters of BBC1’s juggernaut Strictly Come Dancing Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are to leave the show.

They will step down after the end of the latest series in December and posted a video statement on Daly’s Instagram feed. Daly also posted a written statement on the platform calling the role “one of the greatest joys and privileges of [her] career”.

“This isn’t a goodbye to glitter, sequins, or Saturday night sparkle (I would never say goodbye to those!). Strictly will forever hold a special place in my heart - but it does feel like the right time to hand over the reins.” The pair have presented the show together since 2014, with Daly presenting since it started in 2004 alongside Bruce Forsyth.
