HBO Max’s DTF St Louis and Prime Video’s Spider-Noir among big winners at two-day event previously known as Creative Arts Emmys
Prime Video’s recently cancelled drama Spider Noir and Apple TV’s Widow’s Bay were among stand-out winners at the first two nights of the Emmy Awards.
Organisers handed out more than 100 awards at what was previously known as the Creative Arts Emmys, with Widow’s Bay taking home eight prizes in total.
They included Betty Gilpin getting the nod for outstanding guest actress in a comedy, while the Apple TV show also took prizes in casting, production design and cinematography.
Nicolas Cage-starring Spider-Noir, which was axed after just one season, landed five awards in categories that included stunt coordination and special visual effects.
The two-day award ceremony, which took place at the Peacock Theater in LA, also handed out seven prizes to HBO Max’s DTF: St Louis, which included David Harbour taking the supporting actor win for limited series and Linda Cardellini taking the prize for the actress category
Steven Conrad also won writing and directing prizes for his work on the series, helping to take HBO Max’s total haul to 16 awards. Apple TV took top spot, however, with 19 nods, while Netflix rounded out the top three on 13 wins.
The late actor Rob Reiner, who was killed last year alongside his wife Michele Singer, won a posthumous award for outstanding guest across in a comedy for his role in FX drama The Bear.
The awards come a week before the Primetime Emmys, which take place 14 September and are broadcast live on NBC and streamed via Peacock.
