UK-based Zinc Media Group has launched a sales arm and appointed Raw Cut’s Steve Warr to run it.

Zinc Distribution will offer shows from the group’s 11 production labels, ranging from Terror at 30,000 Feet and Police Interceptors to Stonehenge: The Lost Circle Revealed.

The launch follows Zinc’s 2024 acquisition of Raw Cut - where Warr is exec director - and its in-house distribution arm.

Other execs supporting the launch of Zinc Distribution include group distribution and commercial consultant, Paul Hanrahan, while Alex Colebeck moves from Raw Cut Distribution to become head of international sales and Ziella Bryars is group distribution manager.

Zinc said the sales arm would “enhance” its ability to exploit and monetise IP across linear and digital globally, supported by the “hundreds of hours” of content produced annually by its production labels.

The company had previously placed its shows with a variety of distributors, which subsequently sold them into more than 150 territories.

The new set-up “will strengthen relationships with existing distribution partners, forge new partnerships with broadcasters and digital platforms, and drive programme sales and revenue streams across digital content, format licences and merchandising opportunities,” Zinc said.

Warr, who becomes Zinc Distribution executive director, said: “Through our longstanding partnerships and relationships, this is an exciting opportunity to expand our reach, unlock fresh revenue streams, and deliver impactful, high-quality content to global audiences. Our focus is on driving the Group’s growth and broadening our international presence.”

Hanrahan added: “The launch of Zinc Distribution marks the culmination of years of investment in content creation and distribution, enabling us to harness the power of our extensive back catalogue.

“We’re all excited to be able to control more of our IP going forward and manage global sales of our content. In addition, by capitalising on our rich library of IP, we’re well-positioned to lead in the ever-evolving digital distribution landscape and drive sustainable long-term growth.”

Colebeck added: “It’s fantastic to be able to welcome further factual programming to an already healthy catalogue of content. With these additional content pipelines in place it means we should see sturdy year on year growth. I’m excited to be part of this big step forward.”

Zinc companies are: Atomic; Brook Lapping; Rex; Red Sauce; Supercollider; Tern TV; Raw Cut; Tomos TV; Electric Violet; and Bumblebee. It also operates a commercial content creation unit, made up of brand-focused firm The Edge and podcast specialists Zinc Audio.
