The broadcast technology manufacturing market will see single-digit growth through 2009 and 2010, according to the International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers'(IABM) latest Global Market Study.

Revenues will grow at 7% and 9% for the two years respectively, compared with double-digit growth in recent times, as companies find sales tougher. But the study also predicts figures will return to previous levels in 2011 and beyond.

“After several good years of growth and profitability the sector will find things much tougher next year,” said IABM chief executive Roger Stanwell. “Suppliers will need to be prepared to adapt quickly in order to make the most of the opportunities out there.”

The IABM believes the worldwide broadcast and media technology business is now worth£14bn, based on sales of hardware, software and system products, added value from resellers and revenue from the services market. The results of the study were unveiled at IBC.
