There are also new Match Of The Day analysts and a “fan collective” representing every Premier League side

BBC Sport has revealed four new YouTube shows on the eve of the Premier League returning to screens.

The broadcaster has also added several new analysts to its Match Of The Day rotation, and created a “fan collective” that represents every Premier League club and will be used across its social media content.

The four new YouTube shows include FANS², which puts rival fans in a room and asks them to agree on a single answer to a burning football question, as well as The Truth About Football, which uses animation, tactics, data, history, psychology and culture to tackle a big football question in 90 seconds.

There is also Golden Goal, which takes a goal to unexpected locations and asks famous football fans to showcase their skills while answering football questions and revealing what the game means to them, and Football Hub, which is a weekly deep dive into the weekend’s action.

These will all be available on the BBC Sport Football YouTube channel, which launched ahead of the World Cup. Analysis shows Group Chat and Game Changes will also continue for the domestic football season, having first been produced for the World Cup.

On the flagship Match Of The Day highlights show, Toby Alderweireld, Robbie Keane, Ashley Young, and Thomas Frank will join the punditry lineup, with Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney, Joe Hart, Micah Richards, Ellen White, Steph Houghton, Danny Murphy and Ashley Williams continuing. Technology brought in for the World Cup studio will also be in use for Match Of The Day, which you can read more about here

BBC Sport has also created a “fan collective”, which includes supporters from all Premier League sides and will provide reaction and opinions for the BBC Sport app’s Shorts feed and the BBC Football YouTube channel.

Elsewhere on the BBC Sport app, users will be able to personalise their experience by selecting a club they are particularly interested in. In addition, the predictor and Who Am I? quizzes created for the World Cup will continue for the domestic season.

Finally, The Football Interview, hosted by Kelly Somers, returns after its first season last time round. The first episode will be available from 22 August and sees Somers talking to Tottenham’s James Maddison. The show will be available on BBC1 at 12:45 every Saturday during the Premier League season, as well as on BBC iPlayer, BBC Football YouTube and the BBC Sport website and app.

Alex Kay-Jelski, BBC director of sport, said: “Football means something different to every fan, and this season BBC Sport is putting those fans even more firmly at the heart of the game. We’re bringing together the unrivalled expertise of former players and managers with the passion, personality and perspectives of supporters themselves to create a richer football experience wherever and however audiences follow the game.

“There are new shows, new voices and new ways to get closer to the action – alongside the trusted coverage millions of fans already turn to, from Match of the Day to BBC Radio 5 Live. Whether you want the big debate, the inside story, the fan perspective or simply every goal, BBC Sport will be there all season.”
