beIN wins court ruling v VPN providers
beIN Sports France has obtained a court ruling that orders VPN providers NordVPN, CyberGhost and ProtonVPN to block access to pirate services broadcasting the WTA Tour.
The decision recognises that VPN services enable the French public to access IPTV services and websites illegally broadcasting WTA competition matches, and that VPN providers are likely to contribute to stopping these infringements, within the meaning of Article L 333-10 of the French Sports Code.
The VPN providers will have to take all necessary measures to prevent access to these illegal services from France and its overseas territories until the end of the WTA season. The companies will also have to block all new pirate services reported to them by ARCOM during this period.
Willow launches its first original content
American cricket broadcaster Willow has launched Game On With Grace, a video podcast that is its first original content.
The show sees Australian commentator and TV personality Grace Hayden, the daughter of former Australia cricketer Matthew Hayden, interviewing sporting stars about their lives and careers, as well as views on the current cricketing issues. The first guest was Australian cricketing legend Adam Gilchrist.
Game On With Grace is available through Willow, as well as on podcast platforms, with new episodes out weekly.
“Launching Willow’s first original series is an important step in expanding how we serve and grow the cricket community,” said Todd Myers, COO of Willow. “Grace’s knowledge of the game, combined with a confident on-screen presence, makes her a uniquely powerful and authentic voice as the host of Game On with Grace. This podcast will bring authenticity, energy, and a fresh voice that will resonate with both longtime cricket fans and newcomers alike.”
Sennheiser fits out PGA Tour Studios
Audio vendor Sennheiser’s Spectera bidirectional wireless audio ecosystem has been installed at PGA Tour Studios.
The studios, which launched earlier this year, are located in Florida, USA, and include eight production rooms, eight audio control rooms and seven LED-outfitted studios over a 165,000 sq ft campus.
The Spectera system has been added for communication, with its bringing microphones, IFBs, and control data together on a single wideband RF channel, managed from a 1RU base station.
“Our original vision was to implement a building-wide RF system that offered seamless coverage across all studios, regardless of location,” said Ricardo Landaeta, manager of audio broadcast at PGA Tour. “We have seven studios, each with three or four talents, and our goal is to run six shows weekly with a maximum of four talents per show, operating four days a week for 12 hours. Resilience, quality, and versatility are important. With Spectera, talent can easily transition between studios by simply grabbing a pack, and guest integration is smooth.”
