BT Media and Broadcast and Nevion have signed an agreement to provide broadcasters with bundled media network systems.

BT Media and Broadcast, which is the specialist digital media services arm of BT, will integrate its Global Media Network service with Nevion’s video compression and transport equipment.

BT Media and Broadcast global vice president Mark Wilson-Dunn (pictured) said: “By combining our Global Media Network with Nevion’s market-leading equipment and expertise, we can offer a unique proposition for broadcasters and indeed any businesses that need professional quality media, transported in real-time between locations.

“We have already proven the value of these joint services for some of the leading names in broadcasting, so it makes sense to work together even more closely in future and work on ways to increase that value.”

Nevion chief executive Geir Bryn-Jensen added: “We have a relationship with BT that goes back a long way. We even have a technical center of excellence on BT’s Adastral Park campus in Ipswich, which means we can work very closely together.

“Formalising the relationship made a lot of sense, given the clear benefits BT and Nevion can offer jointly to our customers and our proven track record of delivering solutions together.”
