Polecam will show a new miniature lighting innovation for the first time at Broadcast Video Expo next month.

The Microwhite LED head is designed for use with miniature broadcast-quality HD and SD cameras.

It incorporates 20 white light emitters in ring configuration on a black Delrin body and attaches to a Fujinon compact prime lens via Polecam’s FFFS head. Connections to other cameras is possible via a mounting cradle.

The Microwhite can be used as a dimmable primary light source in close-up shots or as a soft fill light to reduce shadowing in medium-distance shots.

Polecam founder and managing director Steffan Hewitt said: “The Microwhite has proved extremely useful during development trials. Being only slightly wider than the lens, the LED ring delivers the light from exactly where it is needed.”

Polecam will show the Microwhite LED head on stand B10.

Broadcast Video Expo takes place on February 16-18 at Earls Court 2 in London.
