Brief Create a 90-second promo for Channel 4’s first-time coverage of the Grand National meeting, which takes place at Aintree between 4 and 6 April.

How it was done A 300-man crew with 300 extras was assembled for a 10-horse race through the streets of Liverpool.

The Devil’s Horsemen supplied horses that jumped benches, fences and cars.

More than 50 hours of footage was captured on 25 cameras, including Arri Alexas and GoPros attached to the jockeys’ heads.

The majority of the action was shot in camera, but additional crowds and a road were added in post, while some jumps were enhanced.

Wires attached to some of the jockeys were also removed.

The VFX supervisor was MPC’s Adam Crocker. Tim Hardy at Stitch completed the edit, while MPC colourist George K graded the promo.
