Brief Develop a design proposition for CBBC that allows it to evolve and grow with its audience while remaining relevant to both its youngest and oldest viewers.

How it was done From CBBC research, “real-ness and connection with real kids in the real world” was chosen as the foundation for the design ideas.

Each interstitial reflects real-life scenarios that are “made more awesome (and simpler) with kids’ imaginations”.

For the logo, the team opted for a playful design with a bold palette of vibrant colours. Composers Brains&Hunch created a distinctive sonic signature with an unexpected pitch combination in a syncopated beat, with older kids voicing the channel name.

The mnemonic is then extrapolated into a catchy tune. The creative director was Jane Fielder and the design director was Amy Johnson.
