Real-time technology specialist Monterosa Productions is enabling viewers to offer their own comments on every aspect of the Sunday night show and try to predict each week’s winner.

Dave Lamb’s tongue-in-cheek commentary is as much a part of Come Dine with Me’s success as the tight format and outrageous casting.

Each week at 8pm, Channel 4’s food website is home to Monterosa’s reac.tv social TV platform, which integrates
comments left on Twitter and Facebook so fans can converse on the contest as it happens. Monterosa has tried a similar model for Living shows Four Weddings and America’s Next Top Model.

“Viewers already use the 4Food site as their space to comment on Come Dine With Me,” said 4Food site editor Julia Pal. “Now we’re giving them the chance to do that in an online format that really captures the spirit of the show.”

C4 is trialling the platform for the last four episodes of the current series and next celebrity special. It is also working on a Facebook app that would let fans plan their own dinner parties.
