Comet Technologies has introduced a new software product that makes it easier for TV newsrooms to work with non-professional reporters.

Comet Citizen Journalist downloads directly to a mobile phone and allows members of the public to transmit live streaming video and still images to a broadcaster.

Studio personnel gets access to the Comet Media portal and Studio from where they can monitor and manage multiple video streams and decide what news goes live to air, what goes to the web and what is archived.

Branded Mobile and PcCapture is also provided to the broadcaster.

Comet Technology's proprietary codec compresses video into a format optimized for low-bandwidth, live streaming. It allows reliable video to be transmitted to and from commonly available cellular devices.
