Creative Technical Media Services is preparing to take over the management of Manchester digital content and TV and film production facility The Sharp Project.

CTMS, the parent firm of Manchester and Glasgow post-production firm 422.tv, will manage the day-to-day operations at the site.

The deal extends CTMS’s existing contract to run the facility’s IT infrastructure. It takes over running the Manchester City Council-owned site from interim management company Rose Marley on 1 October.

“As well as the IT services, we’ll be letting the studios and production spaces, employing security guards and getting the grass cut,” said CTMS managing director David Jackson.

With 65% of the 200,000 sq ft Sharp Project’s office space already let, there are plans to add further capacity, he added.

A green-screen facility will also be built at the Sharp Project site.
