Professional AV equipment reseller CWPro has been bought by Academia, an IT technology supplier to the education market.

The move will allow the company to focus entirely on supplying pro AV equipment to the broadcast, post-production, multimedia, and music recording industries.

CWPro was previously owned by the Computer Warehouse. A new name for the company will be announced shortly.

“From a client point of view our renowned ‘high-level’ of customer service will remain unchanged,” said Andy Brooks, CWPRo key accounts manager

“Our business is business as usual. The team remains unchanged and as you may imagine any on-going support and maintenance contracts currently in place will be honoured in full by ourselves as if no change had occurred.

The company is currently approved suppliers for Apple, Adobe, Active Storage, Apogee, AJA, Assimilate, Avid, Autodesk, Black Magic, Digidesign, Dynaudio, Euphonix, Genelec, Matrox, Samsung, Seagate, Sennheiser, Sonnet, TC Electronic and Yamaha.

CWPRo recently moved into new premises at Premier Park, London NW10.
