The managing director of Deluxe Digital London (DDL) Peter Wright has taken charge at recent acquisition Deluxe 142.

Wright has replaced Maurizio Cimelli as Deluxe 142 managing director, with Cimelli tasked with spearheading a “long-term” project looking at the potential of cloud-based networks.

US-headquartered Deluxe acquired Ascent Media’s creative services and media services divisions in December last year, including UK post houses Ascent 142 (which was rebranded Deluxe 142), Rushes and Soho Film Lab.

Wright said it was “too soon to say” if there would be more changes to the facilities’ senior management teams.

“It’s not within my initial plans to go cutting headcount,” he said. “As we review the business, changes are likely, but they will be positive and for the right reasons. There is some overlap in terms of workflows, so it’s about tidying them up and making them more efficient.”

Earlier this month, Deluxe said it would combine US-headquartered VFX firm CIS with Method, which it acquired from Ascent as part of last year’s deal, and that it would integrate US post facilities Next Element with former Ascent operations Encore and Level 3 Post.

Wright said he did not foresee mergers across the group in Europe, but there would inevitably be changes across Deluxe 142 and DDL: “For example, both companies have restoration operations so it makes sense to join them together.”
