Discreet will reveal a new version of its non-linear editing and finishing system Smoke at this week's IBC in Amsterdam. Smoke 6 will feature a new flexible software design for multi-resolution post-production, including the ability to work at any resolution at any time, and to mix resolutions within projects and timelines. The new version of Smoke will be available as a turnkey system for Linux on the IBM Zpro 6221 Intellistation workstation, and Irix on the new SGI Tezro. This will be the first time that a Discreet product has been made available for the Linux operating system.
